Over the past several years, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have gone from somewhat fringe concepts to being mainstream topics with a much broader adoption.
Wouldn’t you agree?
That growth might have you looking for ways to integrate Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies into your WordPress blog.
To help, developers have created a wide variety of cryptocurrency plugins that can help you do everything – from accepting cryptocurrency payments on WordPress to displaying helpful cryptocurrency information for your readers.
In this post, I’ve collected the best Bitcoin and cryptocurrency plugins that I could find, divided into two sections:
- Cryptocurrency plugins to help you collect payments
- Other cryptocurrency plugins that handle non-payment functionalities
Let’s get started…
Four Bitcoin And Cryptocurrency Payment And Donation WordPress Plugins
All these plugins help you accept cryptocurrency payments or donations on your WordPress site.
1. GoURL
GoURL is the most popular WordPress plugin to help you accept payments in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.
Beyond accepting standalone payments and donations, GoURL also has several other plugins that help you integrate with:
GoURL is convenient and easy to use. The only downside is that it is a third-party gateway and, as such, charges a 1.5% fee (except for Speedcoin payments, which are free).
Later on, I’ll share a WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads cryptocurrency gateway that doesn’t charge any transaction fees.
2. Cryptocurrency All-in-One
As the name suggests, Cryptocurrency All-in-One is a multipurpose cryptocurrency plugin that can handle a few different tasks.
I put it in this section because one of those tasks is accepting cryptocurrency donations (in the free version) and order payments (in the premium version).
Currently, it supports:
- Bitcoin
- Ethereum
- Litecoin
- Monero
- Bitcoin Cash
- ZCash
Beyond payments, it can also help you do some other cool things with cryptocurrency.
It can:
- Display cryptocurrency prices and market cap
- Display exchange rates for cryptocurrencies
- Add a calculator for visitors to calculate a cryptocurrency’s price in different fiat currencies
So if you like that “all-in-one” approach, this is a good option.
If you need the premium features, they cost just $10, which is pretty affordable.
3. BitMate Author Donations
BitMate Author Donations is a unique plugin that makes a great option for single and multi-author blogs alike.
Basically, it lets each author automatically add a stylish Bitcoin donation box at the end of their posts (you can also use a shortcode if desired).
Each author gets a new setting in their profile to enter wallets for:
- Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash
- Ethereum
- Litecoin
- Monero
- ZCash
It’s also easy to use and the end product looks great:
4. MyCryptoCheckout
MyCryptoCheckout is a payment gateway for WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads sites.
There are a lot of cryptocurrency payment gateway WordPress plugins, but MyCryptoCheckout stands out for two reasons:
- It has 0% transaction fees.
- There are no third-party intermediaries. Instead, MyCryptoCheckout automatically detects transactions by watching the blockchain.
That approach is something that most cryptocurrency fans should be happy to get behind.
The setup process is easy. And once you finish, your customers will be able to choose from one or more cryptocurrencies when they check out. Then, they’ll be prompted to send the coins straight to your wallet. And if they don’t send it within a certain time frame, the plugin will automatically cancel their order.
MyCryptoCheckout is free for up to 3 sales per month. You can also purchase a license for unlimited sales for $59 per year.
You can also consider CoinPayments as an alternate solution to collect crypto payments in WordPress.

If you are one of those entrepreneurs who believe in Bitcoin and crypto and running an EDD or WooCommerce website, then you should not shy away from adding crypto as a payment system.
For Crypto related blogs, one can also consider WordPress themes which are designed especially for the purpose. I will create a dedicated post for the same in near future. However, for now, these are the two themes that caught my attention and you may like it as well:
