Google Ads has added its Merchant Promotions program for Shopping Actions to help retailers.
This integration allows online retailers the ability to add promotions to their Shopping Actions stock.
The promotion will be visible to customers wherever the products are discounted in Google Express.

Google emphasizes the importance of this to increase the value proposition and encourage customers buy the product.
Google claims that one retailer experienced a 9.4% rise in conversions (add-to-cart) and a 9.5% increase of GMV (Gross Marketing Volume) per session after they added Merchant Promotions.
Google also refers to a Google-Ipsos study that shows that 57% of holiday shoppers consider promotions and coupons an essential part of their holiday shopping.

Merchants must be registered on Shopping Actions and have a Merchant Center Account. They also need at least one active item.
Next, complete the Merchant Promotions Interest Form.
Shopping Actions merchants are allowed to link their inventory with promotions once they have been approved.
You can link inventory manually in Merchant Center by clicking on Shopping Actions in promotion section.
Merchants that are running Shopping Ads eligible promotions can see the Shopping Actions button below.
Promotions that are eligible include:
- Discounts up to 5%
- Promo codes
- Discounts up to 50%
- Discounts up to 50% on the same item
Merchants may also create a Promotions feed, and change the destination attribute of the promotions to “Shopping Activities”.
Promotors who have already launched Shopping Ads promotions can change the promotion destination attribute in their promotions feed to include Shopping Actions.
